Specializing in “Trophy”Striper Fishing, owner Captain Jim Durham is a Kentucky State licensed guide who has fished Lake Cumberland year round for most of his adult life.   As a former B.A.S.S. tournament circuit fisherman, Captain Jim is also a Staff Officer with the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as well as a Coast Guard Merchant Marine Captain.  Fully insured, let Captain Jim and StriperFun Guide Service take you on safe, fun and unforgettable fishing trip to catch a “Trophy Striper”of a lifetime!

 What you Can Expect to Catch – How we Fish

We target the mighty Striper, but also catch Smallmouth & Largemouth Bass, as well a big Walleyes!  We use only the freshest live Gizzard and Alewives shad, as well as a variety of artificial lures.  In the late summer and fall months, we use artificial lures and downriggers to target suspended schools of fish holding in up to 100 feet deep on the river channels.

 What to Bring with You – Check List

You will need to bring lunch, drinks (Dry County), warm clothing, soft soled shoes (tennis or deck shoes), sun glasses, sun screen, hat, cooler for fish fillets and rain gear (if predicted).
Fishing License (mandatory). 

Deposits & Cancellation Policy

A $100.00 deposit is required within 10 days of when you make your reservation for any StriperFun fishing trip.   The deposit is non-refundable, but we will reschedule with at least three (3) weeks advance notice.  The Captain reserves the right to re-schedule if the weather turns bad on the day of the trip. 

 We Can Pick You Up!

StriperFun Guide Service is headquartered at Beaver Creek Marina.  However, we can pick you up at Jamestown, State Dock and Grider Hill Marinas year round.  January through May we can also pick you up at Conley Bottom.   If you are renting a houseboat, with advance notice, we can also pick you up right from your houseboat!
